The Cultural Enrichment Class

Little Big Horn College Library

and

The Cultural Enrichment Program

Present

Marvin Dawes Sr. will be presenting on the topic of River Crow leaders (including Two Belly) this Thursday January 31st at noon in the Library Programs Room at Little Big Horn College.  River Crow/Black Lodge history is very different from Mountain Crow history.  They spent much of their time up north in the Mussellshell and Missouri River country and never had a treaty with the United States as did the Mountain Crow at Ft. Laramie.  It has been said that they were almost two separate tribes before the River Crows were forced to move south by the government and join their southern kinsmen in the Yellowstone and Big Horn country.  These two divisions of the Crow were a historic division of the 19th century, not the 20th century groups of the same names in the struggle over the Yellowtail Dam.

The program is free and open to the public.
